Omaha with my Bortols » I named my paintball company Raza because to me it stands for our people, our community, our whole paintball world and everything in it. I have been blessed with so much in this world and because I have such great parents who have taught me how to use my blessings to share joy with everyone around me. Chicago » I am finally on my way home from Chicago. I didn't really want to leave and get back to work but I do have responsibilities to my paintball shops in San Diego. The tournament was a blast and after it was over I spent three days with my good friend and founder of Guerrilla Air, Dan Colby. I had a lot of fun this trip. Our team is very competitive as we all know and anything less than a first place finish is disappointing. We go into every event confident we have a chance to win. However, I feel most of the guys will agree with me that we gave this one away. We played solid team paintball all week and were very together as a squad. We all played hard and gave ourselves a chance to win every game. The most important game of the weekend was the Russian game and we lost a 6-4 lead. NBA Playoffs » For those that have been reading my blogs, you already know that I am a big sports fan or more particularly a big NBA fan. The NBA playoffs are my favorite time of year because to me there is nothing better than playoff basketball. The competition, the excitement, and of course the big finish are things you can count on when it comes to NBA. Once again… » This is what I am talking about. Before game 4 in Houston we see an interview with Luis Scola about losing Yao Ming for the playoffs. Scola is a twelve year pro on teams in Argentina, Spain, and the U.S., with a gold medal from the 04 Olympics with Argentina. Scola said “I am not afraid to play without Yao. I am not even afraid to lose you know. I am just afraid of not playing hard enough, not competing, not fighting, and not leaving everything on the court. If you go out there and we play hard, and we fight all game long, good things will happen. And if we lose, we can take it because we left everything on the court.” This is the attitude that every competitor should have. USPL Huntington Beach 09 » So I had a million things that I wanted to say after the event and now here three days later all I can think about is that we took second place. The thing is that I am upset we took second place but in hindsight this is one of the best second place finishes ever. On Saturday night at the end of our meeting Alex looked around and recognized that we were the “oldest” team at the event. Every team out there, although some names have been around for a few years and some of those teams still had one or two veteran players, we still have our group of friends that have been together for years. Dedication » Achieving your ultimate goals takes a few key elements, one of them is dedication. When I first came into the game I was lucky to have great mentors like matt marshall and davey williamson. These guys took me under their wing and said “this is what you have to do to get better.” It started off in mattys backyard with whatever paint we could get together, a tree, and a shovel. Matt would make me sit behind the tree and shoot one shot at a time at the shovel head about thirty feet away. We would shoot slow and methodically to gain a feel for our guns rather than come out blasting off tons of rounds. Of course it was easier to do so, as there were no electronic guns but that wasn’t the point. See it. Feel it. Make it automatic. Uni-Race » Anyone see that new McDonalds snack wrap commercial? I couldn’t tell exactly what the guy was in that commercial. It’s like he was just black enough, just brown enough, and just white enough to appeal to everybody. He was arabblackindianasianwhitexican. I guess that is what we are all going to look like eventually. Thank you McDonalds for introducing us to the uni-race. Only then will we all be able to get along with each other…err..ourselves.

Brett Favre » Brettfavrebrettfavrebrettfavrebrettfavre. That is what my girlfriend says everytime espn brings up Brett Favre. It was such a big deal last year when he wanted to play again and now it is happening again, kinda. He says he won’t play but we all bet if someone called and said we need you he would be right in there. Some said he couldn’t do it last year then he came out playing well and it became a “we will see” story. When the Jets didn’t make the playoffs, some of his teammates came out and blamed it on him.
